DNH Hill Runners: Conquering the Hills of Lausanne, Together

Back in 2012, two friends in Lausanne wanted something different from the usual running groups. They started DNH Hill Runners to bring people together for fun runs and good company. Today, it’s a strong community where anyone can join in and enjoy running together.

Their motto says it all: "Each week, we sweat, we eat miles, we laugh. The air is fresh, the effort is real." DNH Hill Runners started as a place where running is just the start. The real goal is to have fun, share a beer, and enjoy time together. This focus on community and fun makes the group welcoming and full of energy.

DNH Hill Runners do more than just run. They are part of Lausanne’s social life, organizing club nights and helping out at local events. Their involvement shows they are more than a running group—they are a community that gives back to the city.

The group is both welcoming and focused on performance. There are four free training sessions each week. REGULAR runs on Tuesday and Thursday evenings are for everyone, with different pace groups for beginners and social runners. FLASH sessions on Monday and Wednesday evenings are faster and best for runners who have done a 10km in under 45 minutes.

Everyone is welcome at DNH Hill Runners. The sessions are free, no sign-up needed, and open to all levels. Whether you want a relaxed run and a chat or a tough workout before your next race, you can join in.

DNH Hill Runners are a big part of running in Lausanne. The city is home to the International Olympic Committee and has a strong sports culture, with many clubs and groups for all kinds of athletes.

Lausanne is a beautiful, hilly city on Lake Geneva. The steep terrain is perfect for a group called Hill Runners. As the Olympic Capital, the city has a special energy for sports.

DNH Hill Runners make the most of Lausanne. They run by the lake, climb up to the cathedral, explore city streets, and enjoy the quiet trails in Sauvabelin woods. For speed sessions, they head to Coubertin stadium. They really cover every part of the city.

Lausanne hosts a calendar of world-class running events that are a major focus for local runners. The premier long-distance event is the Lausanne Marathon, which takes place in the autumn and offers stunning views of the lake and the Alps. Another hugely popular and historic race is the 20 kils de Lausanne, a challenging spring race that attracts thousands of participants to take on the city's famously hilly course.
