They host expertly crafted, structured sessions every Thursday evening at the Mile End Park Stadium. Their philosophy is built on a foundation of #CrewLove and #GoodVibesOnly, welcoming runners of all abilities with open arms and a willingness to learn.

Track East: The Run Dem Crew Offshoot Bringing #CrewLove to the London Track

In the bustling metropolis of London, a running crew was founded in 2012 by a small group of dedicated members from the legendary Run Dem Crew. They sought to create a space where runners could come together for focused track sessions, irrespective of their abilities or prior experience. From this vision, Track East was born. They have since grown into a passionate community that fosters growth, support, and unforgettable experiences in the heart of East London.

A Journey for All Runners

The philosophy of Track East is an unwavering commitment to inclusivity and the belief that running is for everyone. The only prerequisites for joining are an open mind, a willingness to learn, and a lot of #CrewLove and #GoodVibesOnly. They have successfully created a supportive and motivating environment where every participant, from the seasoned marathoner to the absolute beginner, can improve and thrive. For newcomers to the track or to running in general, the crew also organizes dedicated beginner sessions throughout the year, providing valuable guidance to help individuals take their first strides on their running journey.

The culture of Track East is built around their signature weekly workout. Every Thursday, the crew gathers at the Mile End Park Stadium for their session, which officially starts at 7:00 p.m. These are expertly crafted, structured sessions with training plans and pace groups that cater to all abilities, ensuring each participant can improve within a supportive and motivating environment. After the hard work is done, the crew's culture of camaraderie shines as they gather for well-deserved socializing at a local pub.

How to Join the Movement

Track East warmly invites all running enthusiasts to join their vibrant community. To make the experience as seamless as possible, they have a simple three-step process. First, they ask you to sign up for their mailing list on the Heylo app to stay updated on weekly sessions and connect with fellow members. Second, you can book your slot for the track session through the Better Gyms booking system (booking the 6:50, 7:00, or 7:10 p.m. slot is recommended). Finally, just show up on a Thursday evening at the Mile End track, where the entrance can be found at ///shunts.belts.locker on what3words, ready to connect with like-minded individuals and be part of an incredible running journey.

The London Running Scene

Track East is just one thread in the intricate tapestry of running crews that call London home. Their story is deeply connected to their "parent crew," the legendary Run Dem Crew, which helped inspire the global movement. The city also boasts an impressive array of other crews, including the high-energy Rep Runners, the mindful ChasingLights Collective, and the social London Brunch Club, each contributing its unique style to the city's dynamic running culture.

London is a city that seamlessly blends exercise with exploration. From the tranquil paths of Hyde Park to the bustling streets of Camden Town, every run is a chance to witness the city's vibrant energy firsthand. The premier racing event is the TCS London Marathon, which takes runners on an iconic journey through the city's most famous landmarks. Other notable races include the fast-paced Vitality 10,000 and the festive Santa Run in Victoria Park.
